Gestion Bonfire and Anky van Guensven

Anky’s test had a strong beginning, with each of the first four movements
scoring 8’s from at least three judges in each movement. The scores became
lower though at the first collected walk which scored a 5, 2 6’s, a 7 & 8
with the 8 from the Italian judge and the 5 from the Dutch judge. She did,
however, have strong half pirouettes, scoring 7’s and 8’s. Her medium
trot was a unanimous 8 from all judges and passage 8’s and 2 9’s. The
extended walk was weaker though scoring 2 –5’s, 2-6’s and a 7 from the
Italian judge. Her next collected walk varied from 3 6’s to an 8, again by
the Italian judge. The passage/piaffe tour scored many 8’s with a 9 in the
first piaffe and several 9’s for the passage work. Anky’s first canter
pirouette was strong with 2 9’s, 2 8’s and a 7 but the second pirouette had
a varied opinion with a 6, 7, 2-8’s and a 9. Bonfire’s tempi changes score
usually 8’s with a couple of 7’s. Anky didn’t score as well on the final
extended trot as Isabel, but the Passage from D to X helped even the score
with 3 9’s and 2-8’s. The final piaffe included a few 7’s but the remainder
the passage and transitions were 8’s and 2-9’s.

In Collectives, Bonfire only scored 2-8’s on gaits with the other three
scores being 7’s. His impulsion scores were 8’s with one 7 & one 9 but
higher in the submission scores of 2-9’s and the rest 8’s. Anky also
received all 9’s for rider. Her scores were closer with three judges giving
her a 77+% for an average of 77.48% final score.

LRF Walk on Top and Louise Nathhorst

This horse and rider created an elegant picture in the Grand Prix test. He
was light and airy and showed much harmony between horse and rider. Louise
scored a unanimous 8 from all judges on her entrance and 8’s and one 9 for
her extended trot. Collected walk and pirouettes were consistently scored
with 7’s and an occasional 8 in the pirouettes with one 6. All of the
horses seemed to have trouble with the reinback sequence and Louise scored
her lowest marks here with 4-5’s and a 6 but quickly recovered with 4-9’s on
her next medium trot. The opinions on Walk on Top’s extended walk ranged
from 3-6’s to an 8 from the Italian judge, but was again consistent in the
Collected walk with all 7’s. In her passage/piaffe tour the passage was
scoring consistent 7’s but the piaffe was lowered to a “6” five times. Her
transitions scored higher with mostly 7’s and 2-8’s. The canter pirouettes
were consistent with 7’s & 8’s the second one getting more 8’s than the
first. Both lines of tempis were also rewarded with 4-8’s on the twos and
3-8’s on the ones, the balance being 7’s. Another highlight was her last
extended trot, scoring 4-9’s and only one 8. The passage was again mostly
7’s and a few 8’s but the piaffe scored a couple of 6’s. The final passage
include 3-8’s (2-7’s) and final salute had four 8’s.

Walk on Top’s collective scores included 4 eights and a 9 for gaits. There
were three 7’s and two 8’s for Impulsion and three 8’s and 2 sevens for
Submission with the rider receiving a unanimous set of five 8’s. The scores
ranged from 72+% to a high of 76% from the Dutch judge to give Louise an
average score of 73.48% for third place.
