Farbenfroh, the 14 year old son of Freudentanzer and partner of Nadine Capellmann, died after routine surgery on December 20, 2004. The surgery itself was a success, but during recovery, he broke a bone and had to be put down.
Farbenfroh won individual and team gold at World Equestrian Games, 2002. Unforgotten the most emotional moments between horse and rider, after winning individual gold, Capellmann hugged him around the neck and with tears of the joy streaming down her face, could only say again and again: "You are the best one, you are the best one."
Injured after WEG, he tried an unsuccessful comeback in Spring, 2004. He was brilliant in the show ring. One judge said, "Farbenfroh always seems so proud of himself when he comes out of the arena."
At Sydney, Farbenfroh captured the hearts of the crowd in the Special. He earned team gold and finished fourth individually only behind Bonfire, Gigolo and Rusty.
Thank you Farbenfroh for all the wonderful moments and memories.
