  • Louise Nathhorst & Walk on Top, Grand Prix, WEG.
This horse and rider created an elegant picture in the Grand Prix test. He
was light and airy and showed much harmony between horse and rider. Louise scored a unanimous 8 from all judges on her entrance and 8’s and one 9 for her extended trot. Collected walk and pirouettes were consistently scored with 7’s and an occasional 8 in the pirouettes with one 6. All of the
horses seemed to have trouble with the reinback sequence and Louise scored her lowest marks here with 4-5’s and a 6 but quickly recovered with 4-9’s on her next medium trot. The opinions on Walk on Top’s extended walk ranged from 3-6’s to an 8 from the Italian judge, but was again consistent in the Collected walk with all 7’s. In her passage/piaffe tour the passage was
scoring consistent 7’s but the piaffe was lowered to a “6” five times. Her
transitions scored higher with mostly 7’s and 2-8’s. The canter pirouettes
were consistent with 7’s & 8’s the second one getting more 8’s than the
first. Both lines of tempis were also rewarded with 4-8’s on the twos and
3-8’s on the ones, the balance being 7’s. Another highlight was her last
extended trot, scoring 4-9’s and only one 8. The passage was again mostly
7’s and a few 8’s but the piaffe scored a couple of 6’s. The final passage
include 3-8’s (2-7’s) and final salute had four 8’s.

Walk on Top’s collective scores included 4 eights and a 9 for gaits. There
were three 7’s and two 8’s for Impulsion and three 8’s and 2 sevens for
Submission with the rider receiving a unanimous set of five 8’s. The scores
ranged from 72+% to a high of 76% from the Dutch judge to give Louise an
average score of 73.48% for third place.
