Horses Resume Training 8/29 All the Dutch horses maintained their fitness, so now they can get back to work again. Tomorrow Jürgen Koschel, the team coach, is arriving in Sydney. On the 6th and 7th of September the dressage riders have the possibility of riding the test in front of Australian judges. The Netherlands team is doubting whether to use this option, as they don’t want the horses peaking so soon. The weather in Sydney is getting better again. Today it was 25° Celsius. 8/30 Hermann Dukeck, the surface expert during the Olympic Games, is taking action to have the main stadium of Horsley Park intensively tested as soon as possible. He wants the training of the horses to take place in the stadium, so that the surface can be checked thoroughly. In case there are problems, there is still enough time to solve them. Today everybody was issued with their official accreditation in Sydney. Anky:” When they entered my name in the computer, everything went wrong. The computer flipped and it took a whole hour before I was issued my accreditation. I am now also allowed into the Olympic Games. The German dressage riders have their horses in full training as well now. Only Isabel and Gigolo are taking it easy and are still walking under the saddle. The Swiss dressage rider Daniel Ramseier has very serious back problems and is at the moment undergoing therapy from a chiropractor. The Italian Pia Laus is temporarily riding his horse for him.” 9/03 Today the riders and horses have entered the main arena for the first time. The footing was reasonably good, but it could do with a bit more "spring". The necessary additions to the material of the footing will also make the arena a bit brighter, which will work better for the television images. The horses reacted well to their new environment.
