Jerez 2002
WEG

Netherlands

Ellen Bontje who rides for the Netherlands and trains with Conrad Schumacher may be riding Silvano N for the last time at Jerez.  Mr. Neff, owner of Stoeterij Im Niedern, died unexpectedly and there was nothing in his will about the stable or the horses including Ellen's mounts, Silvano N and Rubioso N.  The heirs arranged a sale of all the horses to Paul Schockemöhle, Germany, who is apparently allowing Ellen to ride Silvano in Jerez.  The rest of the horses have already been transported to the Schockemöhle stables and Silvano is to join them after WEG.

Ellen and her sponsors had little time to raise money for an offer to Schockemöhle for the 17 year old Silvano.  The offer was reportedly turned down.

Ellen and Silvano were named Dutch Champions in June, 2002 winning all three of the Grand Prix tests including the freestyle with 82.01%

Ellen and Silvano were named to the Dutch team for WEG which features four breeding stallions.  Coby van Baalen and Olympic Ferro also represented the Netherlands at Rome WEGAnky van Grunsven's Bonfire, Silver Individual Medal -Rome, was retired after winning the Gold Individual Medal at Sydney.  Anky will compete on Krack C by Flemmingh, the youngest of the Dutch team stallions, at . Gonnelien Rothenberger-Gordijn and Weyden complete the Dutch team.
