A great horseman
once said—let your eye wander loose and free; wherever it stops—that’s
the problem. My eye stops at Cavan’s neck. He never looks loose
in the throat latch.
Power? Yes. Thrust? Absolutely. Energy to spare, especially in the
extended walk and canter work. But the music is rinky-dink, does
not particularly match the horse’s way of going, yet the
transitions reveal lots of fluidity and forward energy.
The one tempis on a circle and the two tempis
are a joy to watch. |

After
an excellent 11th place in the World Equestrian Games
in Dressage in Rome 1998, Blue Hors Cavan continued to enjoy
success, both as a breeding stallion and in competition. At the
first international outdoor competition, Wiesbaden 1999, he
placed 5th in the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix
Special. At Aachen, the worlds largest riding competition he
received three excellent placings: 5th in the Grand
Prix, 3rd in the Grand Prix Special and 2nd
in Grand Prix Kür with 78.95%.
Lars Petersen and Cavan have beaten some of the world’s
best horses and rider combinations. At the European Championships
in Holland they received a 6th place and as members of
the Danish Team, received the team Bronze medal. This was
Denmark’s first medal win since the championships in 1985. For
the second time in Cavan’s young career he won the Danish
Championships. At the end of the season at the CHI-event German
Masters Competition in Stuttgart he received 3rd
place in the Grand Prix and won the Kür with 80.81%, which
defeated the world's elite. These results prove he has a promising
future and a good chance for a medal at the Olympic Games in
sydney 2000.
Cavan
has bred only a few mares to date; however he is the sire of the
stud colt, Caprani, who was named foal of the year in Denmark's
region 6.
Blue
Hors Cavan represents excellent Hanoverian bloodlines. His
sire, Cavalier, had a dressage index of 149. Cavalier's dam, is by
the hall-marked stallion Ferdinand, who is the sire of Olympic
winner Ferdl, owned by Alvin Schockemühle, and Mehemed, World
Champion in dressage, owned by Dr. Reiner Klimke. Cavan's dam's
sire, Damnatz comes from Darling, the famous Hannoveraner d-line (Duellant).
Darling sired 14 approved stallions, including the stallions
Lortzing and Lathan.
Blue
Hors Cavan inherited his dressage talent from these great
forefathers. The young stallion's long list of accomplishments
speak for themselves.
Champion stallion Alivan is from Cavan's first foal crop.
Blue Hors Cavan has been approved by the Danish Warm Blood
Association, Hannoverian Warm Blood Association, and the Oldenburg |
